Castlewood State Park

Ballwin, MO 63021

Located east on Kiefer Creek Rd., off New Ballwin Rd. from Hwy. 100 in southwest St. Louis County (636) 227-4433

Castlewood's main attractions stem from the Meramec River, which flows through the park, and the magnificent white limestone bluffs that soar high above the river. This park is ideal to observe nature, hike, bike, and picnic. Both paved and dirt/mountain are available for bikers, also Castlewood contains boat ramps to the Meramec River allowing visitors to enjoy the nautical aspects of the park. Also of interest is the World Bird Sanctuary, located in the park and open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. The sanctuary houses live birds and features interpretive displays on birds of prey and their activities.
