Chesterfield, Mo. (June 4, 2004) – Men can speak to physicians, sample food from a cooking demonstration and receive free health screenings at Just For Men on Thursday, June 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the East Medical Building Conference Room at St. Luke’s Hospital, 232 S. Woods Mill Road.
The casual event features one-on-one opportunities with physicians to discuss, hair loss, sports injuries, cancer, snoring, smoking cessation and more. Available screenings include: cholesterol, blood pressure, PSA ($10), healthy heart assessments and LASIK screening. For more information or to register, visit www.stlukes-stl.com or call 314-542-4848.
This event falls during National Men’s Health Week, celebrated each year as the week leading up to and including Father’s Day. The event draws national attention since nearly 7 million men have gone without a visit to their physician in ten years. Since men have a shorter lifespan than women, join in fearless, risky behaviors more often and tend to smoke and drink more than women, it is just as important that they get regular check-ups.
For more than a century, St. Luke's Hospital has responded to the expanding needs of the vibrant and growing community. St. Luke's medical staff remains on the forefront of current developments, resulting in consistent recognition as a Top 100 Hospital in the nation for quality care and outcomes.
St. Luke's Hospital is a premier, regional healthcare provider, specializing in cardiac services, cancer services, women's health, general medicine, neurosciences, outpatient services, pediatrics and comprehensive surgical services.
