AMERICA’S PREMIER PHARMACY OPENS IN EUREKA
Walgreens, America’s largest drugstore chain will open its first store in Eureka. The Ground Breaking Ceremony is scheduled for Monday, March 15th at 10 a.m. This store is one of 450 Walgreens plans to open in fiscal year 2004; joining 130 other stores in Missouri.
Founded in 1901, Walgreens stores offer not only pharmacy services but convenient, fast, 24-hour retail services designed to save customers time while providing a range of much needed daily products at customer friendly prices. On hand for the opening ceremony will be Mr. Terry Barnes, Senior Vice-President of Development for Koman Properties, Inc, a renowned, commercial real estate development company based in Clayton, Missouri. According to Mr. Barnes, they are excited about the opportunity to provide the 60,000 people of Eureka and the surrounding area with America’s number one ranked drugstore. According to Mr. Barnes, “When looking at the current and future population of the Eureka area, it lacks sufficient retail services to accommodate the needs of this area. We believe this store is an excellent, long-term investment.” Also present at the opening ceremony will be
Mr. Kevin Coffey, Eureka’s Mayor and a host of local dignitaries. “We believe our community has untapped growth potential”, says Mayor Coffey. “Just as Charles R. Walgreen, founder of Walgreen’s recognized the growth potential in many smaller communities, Koman Properties focuses on developing business opportunities where the population is expanding. We’re glad to have partnered with them in this project, and welcome them as they join the other businesses in the local Eureka area.”
The new Walgreens will be located on Highway 109 just south of Quicktrip. Everyone is invited to attend the ground breaking ceremony on Monday, March 15th at 10 a.m.
