  Our City is served by the award winning Rockwood School District. The district received an Accreditation rating of Distinction with Performance from the Missouri Department of Secondary and Elementary Education in the 2003-04 school year. In addition, ten schools were National Blue Ribbon Schools and fourteen were Missouri Gold Star Schools of Excellence.

The graduation rate for the district is 90% and the class size in middle and high schools is 22.3. The Elementary school average class size is slightly lower. 242 high school students were recognized as AP Scholars in the 2003-04 school year. 80% of the high school graduates took the ACT test. The Rockwood ACT Composite score of 23.1 was significantly higher than the Missouri or the National ACT Composite score.
